Can’t Miss Events for OPC/CSCA in Milwaukee!

Our 2018 CSCA Difference conference in Milwaukee is only a little more than two weeks away! First President Amy Aldridge Sanford has planned an exciting array of panels, keynote, and other programs, as well as time for you to catch up with colleagues. The keynote, Beyond Binaries: Identity and Sexuality, on Thursday evening is especially intriguing and timely, as we will welcome keynote speaker Robyn Ochs. I hope you will join me in the Crystal Ballroom at 6:30 Thursday evening for this event!

Thanks to a wonderful group of reviewers, the Organizational and Professional Communication interest group offers a variety of research and discussion panels. Join us our business meeting on Friday at 11, and our Top Paper Panel at 12:30 on Saturday. We also hope you will join us for two special events: first, join us Friday in the Hilton Hotel Lobby at 2:00 PM (right after the Business Luncheon), because Sarah Riforgiate, Stacey Wieland, and Erika Kirby have arranged an excursion to tour a Milwaukee organization, Ward4! Tour information and the link to sign up appears at the end of this email.

Then save Saturday at 5:00 in the MacArthur Room for a mentoring and networking panel with some of Central’s biggest stars. Peggy Fisher will be hosting Larry Frey, Rahul Mitra, Sarah Feldner, Matthew Seeger, Sarah Riforgiate, Suzy D’Enbeau, and J. Kevin Barge in Advice from Experts on Getting Tenure, Publishing, Teaching, and Moving into Administration: Mentoring and Networking in Organizational and Professional Communication. You will not want to miss any of these events!

As you begin planning your schedule and packing, please remember to send the final version of your paper to your respondent no later than a week before the conference (preferably sooner). We do not use a central scheduling system for this conference, so your respondent does not receive or have access to your paper. Find her or his email by checking the membership directory in the CSCA website (csca-net.org).

Tour information:

The OPC interest group has planned another great outing for the upcoming CSCA Conference in Milwaukee! We'll be touring Ward4, a coworking space where “driven professionals work together in an innovative community.” The group will depart at 2:30pm from the Hilton City Center Lobby. There is no cost for the tour.

In order to provide Ward4 with an accurate list of guests prior to the tour, please register in advance by Monday, April 2nd: https://kstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_07jYgI6aedPgBmJ
