A message from Dr. Michaela Meyer:
I am seeking individuals to join a panel at the CSCA convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 1-6, 2025. The panel will address the intersections between neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ identities. Below is the proposed program abstract:
Scholarship on neurodiversity purports an over-representation of LGBTQ+ identities on the spectrum, with some studies placing the overlap beyond 40% (McQuaid et. Al, 2023). In many ways, the lives of neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ identities coincide – both populations report “passing” as a common experience, navigating anxieties about “coming out,” and debating when to disclose “invisible” aspects of their selfhood to others. In this panel, participants will share their intersectional identity experiences as both neurodiverse and LGBTQ+.
If you would be interested in joining this panel, please email me at mmeyer@cnu.edu.
Thanks in advance!
Michaela
