Reminder: Submit to Instructional Resources Interest Group for CSCA 2026 – Deadline Oct. 10
Dear Instructional Resources Interest Group members… and future members!
The CSCA deadline is just two weeks away, so the Instructional Resources Interest Group encourages you to submit your work for this year’s conference, held April 14-19 in Minneapolis, MN. The convention theme – TRANSLATE! – about communicating what we know to people outside of academe, seems tailor made for papers and panels devoted to teaching and learning in our discipline. So we are looking forward to receiving your submissions!
We are also looking for folks who would be willing to volunteer for the division — if you have time to read a few papers, and would like to contribute to Instructional Resources and gain some professional service experience, please complete this short form. Thanks!
CSCA’s description of the convention theme includes the following:
“This conference theme encourages members to make connections with instructors, scholars, the communication literature, community members, public policy makers, and practitioners examining related issues of interest in different ways. Translating what we know to the public might highlight community engaged research, interdisciplinary collaborations, or innovative strategies that help everyday people learn practical ways to address their most pressing issues.”
For this year’s theme, consider teaming with campus partners like academic advisors and learning centers, with community partners like nonprofit organizations and K-12 schools, or other research-focused Interest Groups (e.g., with the Graduate Student Caucus on preparing for alt-ac careers; with Political Communication on political polarization and facilitating inclusive discussions on difficult topics; with any relevant Interest Group on community service-learning opportunities).
We are also especially interested in how educators in our discipline provide High-Impact Practices (HIPs) for deep, experiential learning (e.g., internships, international study and domestic study-away, undergraduate research, community engagement, and service-learning).
Of course, any submission focused on resources and pedagogical strategies for teaching in Communication are always welcome!

Our division accepts:
- Full Papers
- Discussion Panels
- Paper Panels
If you are submitting a paper or discussion panel, you are encouraged to include people representing multiple institutions on the panels. You should also indicate a panel chair.
Submissions are due October 10th at 11:59pm (CDT).
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thanks!
