CSCA 2019 Convention - Media Studies Interest Group Reminders

Dear Media Studies Interest Group Members:

As you put the final touches on your papers and panels for this year’s meeting of the Central States Communication Association, I wanted to share a few important pieces of information with you as Media Studies Interest Group members about the conference. We have nine panels of original papers and discussion panels on offer for you this year on a broad range of topics utilizing multiple types of research methods. There should be something for almost everyone. I hope that you are able to attend the panels most relevant to your research and teaching.

There are also a few key items I hope you will all include in your schedule. Please join us to hear the presentations on the Top Paper Panel on Friday, April 5, 9:30-10:45am in the Flanagan room of the Doubletree Hilton Omaha. Then stick around in the same room as we celebrate the Top Paper winners and discuss the business of the interest group at the Media Studies Interest Group Business Meeting, Friday, April 5, 11-12:15pm.

If you are responding to a paper panel at this year's conference, you can get a copy of each of the submitted papers now as part of our online system here: https://ww4.aievolution.com/csc1901/.

When you log into the system, you can go to Conference Program along the top, search for the panel or specific paper, and then click View Submission. The file will be there as a PDF. If you submitted a pre-planned panel, you will need to have the chair or a participant send the papers to your invited respondent as these papers are not saved in the system in the same way.

Finally, do not forget to take advantage of the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel (if you are flying) and to check the road conditions (due to extensive flooding in the area) if you are driving. Travel safely.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Omaha in a few weeks!

Jennifer C. Dunn, Media Studies Interest Group Chair and Program Planner, 2019
