CSCA 2019 Convention - Registration, Membership, & Program

Hello CSCA Members & Attendees…

The 2019 CSCA Conference is quickly approaching.  I just wanted to send a few reminders before you all get to Omaha.

Registration, Membership, & Program

If you have not already registered, please do so. Not sure if you registered? Please contact Kathie Cesa, csca@kocmemberservices.com, for confirmation.

If you are not attending this year’s conference, be sure to renew your membership by March 31 so that it does not lapse in 2019.

Take a close look at our short course options here. Even if you have already registered, it is not too late to sign up for a short course. There are many excellent choices this year!

You can now access the CSCA program from your phone using our new online system.  Use the webpage on your phone as you would on your computer. Copy and paste the following link into your browser > https://bit.ly/2HvB2Xt > add the link to your homepage or save as a bookmark for easy access.

Technology

We will have technology in almost every room at this year’s conference. However, there will not be technology in the following rooms. If you are presenting in these rooms, please plan accordingly.  The projectors have VGA connections so you will need to bring your own MAC or HDMI adapters.

Omaha Information

A team of students from UNO have worked hard on creating excellent resources for your visit to Omaha, including this website (https://cscaomaha.weebly.com/). Additionally, you will see them around the conference in blue “Dialogue: Ask Me” t-shirts. If you have any questions about Omaha or CSCA events, please find them!

To help you squeeze in your lunch between panels, we will also be having a Food Truck Rally behind the hotel from 11am-1pm on Saturday. Check out the menus for our three featured local food trucks that you can choose to order your Saturday lunch from onsite at the hotel:

1) Johnny Riccos Brooklyn Pizza  http://www.johnnyriccos.com/menu.html
2) 402BBQ https://www.the402bbq.com/menu
3) A Taste of New Orleans  https://www.yelp.com/biz/a-taste-of-new-orleans-food-truck-omaha

Directions:

Take the elevator or walk downstairs
Exit the North Doors to Capitol Street

Your CSCA badge this year will also get you discounts at several local restaurants! (These participating establishments will be available at check in and also listed on https://cscaomaha.weebly.com/)

There will be raffles for prizes this year—you can sign up for the raffle in the Exhibit Hall.

Downtown Omaha has a lot to offer—from excellent restaurants to entertainment to shopping. The free hotel shuttle can drop you off in the Old Market, North Downtown, or Midtown Crossing areas of Omaha. I hope you have time to explore our city!

Also, be sure to follow CSCA on social media (Facebook: @CentralStatesComm and  Instagram & Twitter: @CSCA_COM) to get all of the latest news and special events during the conference.

Finally, if you missed my note about the local floods and travel: If you are flying into Omaha, you should be no problem landing and getting to the hotel. (There is a free shuttle between the airport and hotel—it is only about a 10 minute drive.) If you are driving into Omaha, please check the current condition of roads and take an alternate route if need be.

If you have any questions before the conference, please let me know (cmcbride@creighton.edu), and I look forward to welcoming you to Omaha for #CSCA19.
