CSCA Names Renee Kaufmann Next Editor of the Journal of Communication Pedagogy

Dear CSCA members:

I am pleased to announce that the CSCA Executive Committee has selected Dr. Renee Kaufmann as the next editor of the Journal of Communication Pedagogy. She will work closely with our current editor, Dr. Deanna Sellnow, for the remainder of 2021 and 2022, and officially transition to the position of editor on January 1, 2023. You can read more about Renee in her bio below. Thanks to Renee for accepting this position and to Deanna for all of her work in the role.

Renee KaufmannDr. Renee Kaufmann is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Science at the University of Kentucky. Kaufmann earned her Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Kentucky. Before earning her doctoral degree, she was a seventh-grade teacher and attributes that experience as to why she is interested in instructional communication research.

Currently, Dr. Kaufmann serves as the associate editor for the Journal of Communication Pedagogy under the direction of editor Dr. Deanna Sellnow. Kaufmann is thrilled to be able to continue her service with the journal.

Kaufmann’s research interests focus on exploring instructor and student communication in the online classroom as well as the use of technology in the classroom. Her recent work has appeared in Communication Education, Interactive Learning Environments, Distance Education, eLearning and Digital Media, and Basic Communication Course Annual.
