AWARDS

ICIG presents two awards with cash prizes: 1) top paper award and 2) top student paper award. The awards for top paper and top student paper will be recognized during the Intercultural Communication Business Meeting.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. Individual papers:

All submissions must be complete, including a title and a 100-word abstract. Student and student debut papers should be indicated in the upper right corner of the paper to be eligible for the top student paper award (all authors must be students to be eligible for this award). Specifically, graduate students should type “STUDENT” on the upper right-hand corner of the title page. If the paper will be a graduate student debut, please type “DEBUT STUDENT” in the upper right-hand corner of the title page. To be considered a graduate student debut paper, the author must (1) be a graduate student, (2) have single authorship, and (3) be the author’s first paper to be presented at CSCA. If you would like your paper to be considered for the Inclusive Scholarship Award, type “INCLUSIVE SCHOLARSHIP” in the upper right-hand corner of the title page. To be considered as an exemplar of inclusive scholarship, the paper must demonstrate academic rigor in the examination of communication and historically marginalized communities/populations. 1. Experimental/creative/interactive sessions

As this year’s theme highlights “We story these experiences in the form of prose, poetry, performance, photography, and film, as well as through print, sound bites, digital pixels, canvas, and fabrics.”, our group extends the scope of the submissions to innovative and novel programs in various forms. Examples of submissions for these sessions include but not limited to displays of visual artwork/photography, showing of film/documentary, performances, culture tour of historic places in St. Louis, mentoring/networking sessions, roundtable on research in progress. Submissions should consider how the session can enhance the goals and objectives of the ICIG by incorporating creative methodologies from other disciplines such as arts, film, and so forth. All submissions must include the goals, rationale, specific activity plans, and names of the individuals who are responsible for the session. In your activity plans, please provide specifics such as special equipment requests, size of the space needed for the session, transportation plans, the number of slots needed and so forth.

All submissions must be made via our CSCA online submission system site. Emailed or mailed submissions will not be accepted. The submission link will be available on the CSCA website (https://www.csca-net.org/aws/CSCA/pt/sp/callforpapers).
